I posted this e-card on my social media with this accompanying message: “If distance or health prevents you from being with family or friends, let your memories bring you back to times of joy and happiness.” UNEXPECTED HOLIDAY GIFTS By Candice M. Sanderson   T his was new for me, and I wasn’t very happy about it. For the first time in my life, I would not spend my birthday (December 21), Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day with my family. Although very cautious and following all recommended medical guidelines, my daughter and her youngest contracted covid. The thoughts of Cassie and Shalane being sick added fuel to those holiday blues that creep in my direction this time of year. Unable to be with my daughter and her family, the highlight of my quiet birthday was going to bed early. When friends and family see things differently than you, it throws you off-kilter. It’s not usually personal; most people perceive their truths through deeply ingrained cultural and family beliefs. That’s how they comprehend life. How can we navigate these often-turbulent waters when you look around and discover your lifeboat has disappeared?  When you’re in over your head

Out with the Old, In with the New  Goddess I Am: 12-28-18 Before Beth shared her annual channeled “out with the old, in with the new” message, she led us in a five-minute silent meditation. I immediately felt tingling on the soles of my feet as energy began to course upward. It moved through my ankles, calves, thighs, and midriff. When it reached my chest, part of the energy flowed down my shoulders, into my arms, and out my hands while the rest of the energy moved up through my neck, face, and out the top of my head.  These vibrations were hot—smoldering hot—and I knew it burned away and released older energies that no longer serve us. I understood that these magical, contemplative five minutes were preparing us for the evening’s message. It represented the out with the old to make room for the new. As the energy left my hands and the top of my head, I sensed a change. From above, snow “petals” began to drift downward. Although I had never heard th
